Catie Lee Bellone, B.A.
Research scholar
Catie received her undergraduate degree in Biology on the pre-health track from Brandeis University. She completed her senior thesis in nutrition in Dr. K.C. Hayes' Lab. Her research revealed that dietary fibers influence postprandial blood glucose levels and gut microbiota. In our lab, Catie is interested in pursuing her passion for microbiology, focusing on the microbiome's role in metabolic disorders. She aims to combine her expertise in nutrition and microbiology to serve as a physician assistant and dietitian, while continuing research in microbiome science. Outside of lab, you can probably still find Catie reading the latest nutrition or gut microbiome studies, fermenting her own veggies, or counseling her friends and family on how to incorporate more probiotics into their diet!
